Our members range in ability and we have whole families as members as well as individual members of all ages. The club has a lot of young members although it is generally recommended that children should be aged 10 or over before joining to ensure that they are strong enough to handle the canoes or kayaks.</font><FONT SIZE="-1"> Eagle kanoe</FONT><font size="2" face="Arial"><br> <br> Some of us just like paddling as a leisure activity, some are into canoeing as a sport and we all aim to enjoy ourselves!<br> <br> We became an independent club in 1998 and we are affiliated to the British Canoe Union.<br> <br> </font> <font color="#0E519A" face="Arial"> <b>Club nights</b></font><font size="2" face="Arial"><br> These are weekly on Wednesday evenings starting at 6.30pm from April to October and fortnightly during the winter.<br> On club nights we run training courses, paddle up or down the river, practice safety and rescue techniques, play games, do slalom coaching, etc, and once a month we have a barbecue.<br> <br> </font> <font color="#0E519A" face="Arial"> <b>Events and activities</b></font><font size="2" face="Arial"><br> During the year we also run different events and activities. At The Centre we use has a wide variety of canoes, kayaks and paddles suitable for all abilities and types of canoeing</a>.
